If you want to change your membership of Esbjerg Golf Club, including resigning it, this must be done in writing to the general office on or before 1 December in a given subscription year with effect as from the next subscription year. This is stated in article 4 of the Articles of Association.

All changes must be sent to kontor@egk.dk, so that you and the golf club have documentary proof that the change has been notified in time. It is your own responsibility as a member to make sure that the notification of the change reaches the golf club, so be sure to get a confirmation from the general office.

After a timely notification of a change to a cheaper membership, it will always be possible to upgrade your membership during a subscription year and thereby only pay the difference. As a passive member, you are still part of the club.

When resigning your membership within the subscription year, you are not entitled to a pro rata subscription fee refund.

When re-registering for membership the year after resigning the membership, a full subscription fee is to be paid.

No exemption is given when resigning your membership after the deadline. Esbjerg Golf Club is a member-owned club with a big focus on personal guidance, and therefore it might seem surprising that the club management is not flexible and accommodating towards these changes after deadline. It is due to the fact that the management is employed to work based on the Articles of Association that club members themselves help to pass on the annual general meeting. The club management is therefore not entitled to bend the Articles of Association or grant special exemption. This is for the club’s common good.

Since Esbjerg Golf Club’s Articles of Association do not discriminate between age groups, adults of juniors in the club are asked to be extra aware of this deadline.

The club’s Articles of Association are issued in connection with your application for membership, and they are sent electronically together with the invoice for the subscription charge. Furthermore, the Articles of Association are forwarded at least twice a year. Therefore, remember to provide the correct email address, so that you as a member are always informed about the rules of the club.
